Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the DINEY mobile application and related services (together, the "Services") provided by DINEY ("DINEY", "we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, accessing, or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use the Services. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

2. The Service

DINEY helps you decide what to cook by identifying ingredients from photos of your kitchen, tracking your household inventory, and generating personalised meal suggestions, expiry reminders, and shopping lists. Meal suggestions and ingredient recognition are provided for convenience and may not always be accurate. You are responsible for checking ingredients, allergens, food safety, and suitability before cooking or eating.

3. Subscriptions

DINEY offers premium features through an auto-renewable subscription. We offer the following plans:

  • Monthly subscription: billed once per month.
  • Yearly subscription: billed once per year, typically at a discount compared with paying monthly.

The exact price, billing period, and any introductory offer or free trial are shown in the App at the point of purchase and may vary by region and currency.

Billing and auto-renewal

  • Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the rate of your selected plan.
  • If a free trial is offered, any unused portion of the free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.

Cancellation

  • You can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you retain access to premium features until then.
  • To cancel, manage your subscription in your device account settings: on iOS via Settings → your name → Subscriptions, and on Android via the Google Play Store → Subscriptions.
  • Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription; you must cancel through your app store account.

Refunds

Payments are processed by Apple or Google, and refunds are subject to their respective policies. We are generally unable to process refunds directly; please contact the Apple App Store or Google Play for refund requests. Statutory rights that cannot be waived under applicable law remain unaffected.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
  • Reverse engineer, copy, or resell any part of the Services.
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Services.
  • Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes the rights of others.

5. Your Content

You retain ownership of the photos and information you provide. You grant DINEY a limited licence to use this content to operate and provide the Services to you, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit any content you provide.

6. Intellectual Property

The Services, including all software, text, design, and branding, are owned by DINEY or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your own personal, non-commercial use.

7. Disclaimers

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. DINEY does not warrant that meal suggestions, ingredient recognition, or nutritional or allergen information will be accurate, complete, or suitable for your needs. Always verify food safety and allergen information yourself.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DINEY will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Services. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services if you breach these Terms or use the Services in a way that could cause harm. You may stop using the Services at any time and delete your account.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you within the App. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Apple App Store Additional Terms

If you download the App from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and DINEY only, not Apple, and that Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Your use of the App must also comply with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
